Children’s Resilience Fund

The Children’s Resilience Fund was established in May 2023 in partnership with the UBS Optimus Foundation to address the immediate and long-term needs of children in Ukraine. The Fund provides grant support to small and medium-sized Ukrainian civil society organisations, enabling them to respond to war-related challenges, expand their activities, and implement initiatives focused on child protection, education, and well-being.

Rehabilitation Centre Infrastructure Restoration for Veterans

With the support of international donors and in cooperation with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Crown Agents implemented a project to install a modular boiler house as part of the restoration of the State Rehabilitation Centre. The project provided a stable heat supply to facilities covering a total area of 1,777.9 m² and created comfortable living and rehabilitation conditions for more than 3,000 veterans annually.

Psychological Support for Veterans During Rehabilitation

With the support of international donors and in cooperation with the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and Ukrainian civil society organisations, Crown Agents helped expand access to psychological rehabilitation for veterans and their family members. The project established an art therapy space and delivered a series of therapeutic sessions for 250 veterans, supporting their emotional well-being, social adaptation, and recovery from the traumatic effects of war.

Humanitarian Mine Action and Explosive Ordnance Risk Education

Under the Grant Agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Japan, specialised equipment is being supplied to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. The project is being implemented under the Emergency Response Programme for Humanitarian Mine Action and the Clearance of Unexploded Ordnance. The total budget is JPY 3,500,000,000.

Improvement of Humanitarian Mine Action

Description: Under the Grant Agreement between the governments of Ukraine and Japan, specialised equipment is being supplied to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, and a training complex is being constructed for humanitarian demining specialists. The project is being implemented under Phase 3 of the Programme for Emergency Recovery, with a budget of JPY 2,800,000,000, and Phase 4, with a budget of JPY 1,500,000,000.

Civil society organisation support fund

Managing a USD 13.01 million support fund for civil society organisations in Ukraine under a UK Government (FCDO) programme (2022–2024). This is part of Crown Agents' broader response supporting Ukrainian civil society, which has reached more than 120 civil society organisations overall. Funds raised by Crown Agents International Development in the UK (over £25 million for the humanitarian response in Ukraine) supported the delivery of generators, first-aid kits, oxygen concentrators and baby incubators; on-the-ground deployment of this assistance in Ukraine was carried out by the Crown Agents Ukraine team.

Urgent market research during the energy crisis

The Pilot Project on Urgent Market Research in Response to Ukraine's National Energy Crisis: Crown Agents Ukraine conducted a market survey and procured generators and cabling for the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories and the Ministry of Energy on a rapid timeline in early 2026.

Upgrading learning equipment for Ukrainian schools

Under JICA's Emergency Recovery Programme, Crown Agents Ukraine coordinated the delivery of 5th-grade textbooks, 85 interactive learning complexes, 425 uninterruptible power supply units, and STEM and robotics kits to schools across Ukraine, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Urgent restoration of the energy sector

Crown Agents Ukraine supports the energy sector's emergency recovery programme under Japan's grant aid across four grant agreement phases (2023–2025). 181 generators (58.3 MW), 96 power transformers, 5 autotransformers, and 419 km of cable have been delivered or are under delivery to 19 state energy enterprises, including Ukrenergo and seven regional oblenergos. CAU also provides direct advisory services to the Ministry of Energy on asset management.
