Crown Agents Ukraine presented the results of Phase One of urgent repairs at the Ukrainian Center of Maternity and Childhood and discussed the next stage of the facility's modernization.
Crown Agents Ukraine is implementing a project for urgent repairs at the State Institution "Ukrainian Center of Maternity and Childhood of the National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine." At a working meeting with Crown Agents Ukraine, the Council of Europe Development Bank, the Center's management and representatives of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, the results of Phase One were presented and the next stage of the facility's modernization was discussed.
Under Phase One, Crown Agents Ukraine completed the following works:
roof restoration across 5 zones of the building
modernization of the power supply system
installation of new electrical switchboards and an automatic backup power switching system
installation of inclusive infrastructure elements, including ramps and electric lifts
In 2025, the Center provided care to patients according to the following figures:
6,500 patients treated as inpatients
923 births attended
18,670 patients received outpatient care
2,144 operations performed, including 72 on newborns
The next phase of the project covers modernization of entrances and elevators, creation of inclusive sanitary facilities, reconstruction of the maternity ward, procurement of furniture and medical equipment, and modernization of shelters.
The project is implemented with financial support from the Fund for the Solidarity with Ukraine, through the Council of Europe Development Bank, with Crown Agents Ukraine's participation.
