Damaged sections of the roof at the All-Ukrainian Centre for Maternal and Child Health have been repaired as part of the first phase of the Centre’s modernisation, supported through the Council of Europe Development Bank’s Ukraine Solidarity Fund.
Reliable healthcare infrastructure is a fundamental requirement for the safe and uninterrupted work of medical professionals and the delivery of care to patients.
At the All-Ukrainian Centre for Maternal and Child Health, where children are born, complex procedures are performed and thousands of patients receive medical care, repairs to damaged sections of the roof have been completed.
The previous roofing had sustained significant damage, creating a risk of water ingress and potentially affecting the condition and safety of the medical premises.
The works included:
repair of the existing roofing;
replacement of damaged sections;
restoration of the building’s protection against weather and precipitation.
Following completion of the works, medical staff can operate in safer and more reliable conditions, while patients benefit from premises that are better protected from external weather conditions.
The roof repairs formed part of Phase I of the modernisation of the All-Ukrainian Centre for Maternal and Child Health. The same phase also included upgrades to the Centre’s electrical infrastructure, including automatic backup power transfer systems, as well as improvements to physical accessibility.
The project was implemented with financial support from the Ukraine Solidarity Fund, established by the Council of Europe Development Bank to support Ukraine’s recovery and resilience.
Crown Agents Ukraine supports the implementation of the project, contributing to improvements in the Centre’s essential infrastructure and helping create safer and more reliable conditions for patients and healthcare professionals.
