Modern Medical Equipment Delivered to 36 Hospitals Across 10 Regions of Ukraine with Support from Japan

Under the Programme for Emergency Recovery for Ukraine, supported by the Government of Japan through JICA, 36 hospitals across 10 regions of Ukraine received modern medical equipment for diagnostics, surgery and emergency care.

Supporting Ukraine’s healthcare system remains one of the key areas of international assistance during the war.

Through the Programme for Emergency Recovery for Ukraine, implemented with support from the Government of Japan via the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Ukrainian healthcare facilities have received modern equipment aimed at strengthening their capacity to provide timely and high-quality care.

In total, medical equipment was delivered to 36 hospitals across 10 regions of Ukraine.

The equipment supplied included:

  • X-ray systems;

  • ultrasound systems;

  • operating tables;

  • anaesthesia equipment;

  • other medical devices required for diagnostics and treatment.

The new equipment helps healthcare professionals respond more effectively to urgent cases, improve diagnostic and treatment capabilities, and maintain continuity of care despite the increased pressure on Ukraine’s healthcare system.

The project is implemented in cooperation with the JICA Ukraine Office under Japan’s Grant Assistance for the Programme for Emergency Recovery for Ukraine.

The support forms part of Japan’s broader contribution to restoring Ukraine’s critical infrastructure and strengthening the resilience of the country’s healthcare system under wartime conditions.

Crown Agents Ukraine, together with Crown Agents Japan, supports the procurement and logistics components of the programme, helping ensure that essential medical equipment reaches healthcare facilities across Ukraine.
